Role – SAP MM Consultant

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced SAP MM Consultant with strong expertise in Material Master, Data Migration, and MDG (Master Data Governance).

The consultant will be responsible for functional design, data conversion, S2T mapping, testing, defect resolution, and collaborating closely with technical and business teams during SAP implementation and rollout projects.

 Key Responsibilities

1.SAP MM – Material Master Functional Expertise

• Configure and support Material Master processes across plants, storage locations, procurement, and valuation.

• Understand and document Material Types, Valuation Classes, MRP settings, Purchasing data, and related integrations.

2.Data Migration & Material Master Loads

• Create Functional Specifications for data migration objects.

• Develop Source-to-Target (S2T) Mapping Sheets at field and rule level.

• Work with Data Migration tools such as BAPI, IDoc, LSMW, S/4HANA Migration Cockpit, or BODS teams.

• Perform mock loads, test loads, and validate material data at table level (MARA, MARC, MBEW, etc.).

3.Testing (SIT / UAT)

• Prepare Functional Unit Test Plans and Test Scripts.

• Conduct System Integration Testing (SIT) and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

• Log defects, perform root-cause analysis, and drive resolution with technical teams.

4.Requirement Gathering & Workshops

• Conduct workshops with business users to define requirements for Material Master and related MM processes.

• Document:
• Business Requirements
• Functional Design
• Data rules and transformation logic
• Coordinate with the migration, functional, and technical teams to align business processes.

5.MDG (Master Data Governance)

• Familiarity with SAP MDG Material (MDG-M) processes.

• Work on Change Requests (CRs), data validation rules, and workflow-based approvals.

• Ensure alignment of MDG rules with migration rules.

6.SAP Implementation & Support

• Must have participated in at least 2 end-to-end SAP implementations.

• Experience working with Data Migration teams during cutover and go-live.

• Provide post-go-live support for Material Master and MM-related issues.

 Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills

• SAP MM with specialization in Material Master
• Strong experience in SAP S/4HANA or ECC Material Master tables (MARA, MARC, MBEW, MARD, MARM, etc.)
• Hands-on experience writing:
• Functional Specifications
• S2T Mapping Sheets
• Validation Rules
• Good understanding of the entire data migration lifecycle
• Experience in MDG-M (nice to have)
• Knowledge of integration with SD, PP, FI, and WM modules
• Understanding of BAPI, IDocs, and load programs

Functional Skills

• Requirement analysis & gap identification
• Process mapping & documentation
• Test planning and execution
• Strong communication and client interaction skills

Experience

• Minimum 4 years of experience in SAP MM
• Experience in at least 2 full-cycle SAP implementations
• Direct involvement in Material Master Data Migration
• Experience coordinating with cross-functional teams
