Position Details: Senior DevOps Engineer (Infrastructure & Database Operations)

Description:

Key Responsibilities
As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be measured by your ability to proficiently handle Assigned Service
Requests & Operational Tasks (ASROT), governed by SLAs/SLOs, and your active contribution to Value-Add
Projects & Client Solutions (VAP/CS).
1. Infrastructure & Systems Administration (~60% Focus)
Assigned Service Requests & Operational Tasks (ASROT):
 L2/L3 Infrastructure Support: Provide advanced support for server, operating system (Linux, Windows),
AWS cloud, and virtualization environments.
 System & Patch Maintenance: Manage and maintain client infrastructure, including patch management,
configuration management, AWS resource upkeep, and security compliance.

 Incident & Alert Management: Respond to and resolve alerts/incidents from monitoring systems to
ensure maximum uptime.
 Operational Health Checks: Perform system health checks, resource utilization reviews, and CMDB
inventory updates.
Value-Add Projects & Client Solutions (VAP/CS):
 Proxmox Virtualization & Migration: Lead the design, deployment, and daily operation of Proxmox VE
environments. Plan and execute migration projects moving legacy platforms (VMware) to Proxmox VE.
 IaC & CI/CD Operations: Maintain and operate existing GitHub repository workflows and automated
deployment pipelines. Extend Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Ansible and Terraform.
 Automation Expansion & Ansible Galaxy: Continuously enhance existing playbooks, develop custom
roles, and integrate community/vendor collections via Ansible Galaxy to standardize automation across
systems.
 AWS Infrastructure Support: Maintain, optimize, and provision client cloud workloads within AWS
environments.
 ELK Stack Management: Optimize and operate ELK (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) stacks for client
logging, monitoring, and proactive problem identification.
2. Open-Source Database Operations & DBA Backup (~40% Focus)
Assigned Service Requests & Operational Tasks (ASROT) of Level 1:
 Database Operational Support: Provide Level 1/2 backup operational support for open-source and
NoSQL databases, specifically Cassandra, PostgreSQL, and MySQL.
 Housekeeping & Maintenance.
 Backups & DR Readiness.
 Monitoring & Performance.

Value-Add Projects & Client Solutions (VAP/CS):
 Database Automation: Collaborate with the Lead DBA to extend Ansible playbooks and scripts for
routine database provisioning, monitoring setup, and maintenance tasks.
 Migration & Upgrades: Assist with database migration initiatives (including AWS hosted/native setups)
and high availability (HA) cluster maintenance.
 Documentation & Runbooks: Maintain clear operational runbooks and GitHub documentation for
emergency database failover procedures and escalation paths.
